I cannot recommend Catalano Construction enough. Paul Catalano is honest, affordable, and does outstanding work. We recently chose Catalano construction for our second story addition on our ranch home and we are so glad we did. They were efficient while still providing quality construction. Paul’s team just completed a 400+ sq ft addition to our house, and it looks fantastic. They were in contact with us throughout, they let us know who was coming and when so you have a heads-up of who and what to expect, they kept the site clean, and their work is top-notch. Paul sat down with us at the beginning of the process to ask what we wanted, his team helps to design and plan everything with the town so it’s really a one-stop shop, no having to hire an outside architect, the plans are all designed in-house and presented to you. From there it was excavation, foundation, framing, and so forth. Shout out to Mike and his crew for the precise carpentry and craftsmanship in the framing, we heard he’s the best in MA, and it showed. The entire frame work was completed in a matter of days. We recently completed a full gut renovation with P. Catalano Construction and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. Their communication was consistently clear, proactive, and honest. We always knew what was happening, what to expect next, and where we were in the timeline. The crew was professional, respectful of our home, and incredibly detail-oriented. Every piece of the project from framing and electrical to finishes and final touches was completed with care and craftsmanship. We hired Catalano Construction to put on an attached garage with two rooms above. We couldn't be happier with the end result. Paul and his crew were in constant contact with us every step of the way and made the entire project flow seamlessly. We had a general idea of what we were looking for, and Paul really brought our vision to life, while also recommending designs and features we hadn't even thought of. Every crew that came were very friendly and took pride in their work, making sure every small detail was met with the highest standard. We reached out to Catalano Construction in early 2024 after we had a less than stellar experience with another construction company in mid-late 2023. Paul came out to our house and sat with my husband and me for over 2 hours, listening to what we wanted, our budget, our hopeful timeline, and even took the blueprints of the plans we wanted and integrated them into his system and came back with a quote that was within our budget. For reference, we added on a mostly finished (just needs paint) basement, a first floor living room with a playroom at the back, a large closet off of the back mudroom entrance, a nook off of the existing dining area with a pantry, and a master suite with a large walk in closet as well as moving our laundry into the new en suite bathroom. Between getting permits, a town variance hearing, and other town processes, our project broke ground in the fall of 2024 and wrapped up in August 2025. From start to finish, communication was clear. Every one of the workers who came to our house was kind, knowledgeable, professional, and respectful of our time and property. Vinny, Mike, Will, Joe, Matt, Johnny, Sam, and Marcio are just a handful of those who worked on our home, but they are the names I remember and can speak of off the top of my head. Vinny led the dig crew for the foundation and would always let us know ahead of time whether there would be a crew working on our project or if they would be at a different location that day. Mike took the lead on the framing of the new space and made sure that even though it was the middle of winter, that our existing space was blocked off and air tight when the internal wall spaces were opened up. Of course with breaking through walls there is the dust factor, but each person worked to make sure the mess in our existing home was kept to as minimum as it could be. The basement was the space that got the most dirty through all of this, as they had to cut through a poured concrete wall to allow for an entrance into the new basement space from the existing basement. Will led the internal crew, with Joe and Matt, putting in so much attention to detail that each new space seamlessly integrated with the existing structure. Joe’s attention to detail is impeccable and the work he did installing our floors and hanging pantry and closet doors, and patching holes in the hardwood where our old baseboard heaters were removed is perfect. Matt’s carpentry skills are absolutely exceptional, our new staircase and treads were stained with a mix that he made up that is basically identical to the original flooring that we have. Literally, the only way I know that I’m looking at new wood is because it’s so shiny and not worn down from us walking on it. Even the guys who weren’t directly employed by Catalano (Johnny the electrician, Sam the plumber, and Marcio the painter) were awesome. They each had their own challenges, working on a home built in 1910, namely rerouting the sewer line and having to upgrade the electrical box and hardwire/install smoke detectors to be up to code, but any hiccups were communicated with us and we were given details on how to proceed and why the changes were necessary. Marcio’s paint job is absolutely gorgeous. He and his assistant spent so much time prepping so the paint went on perfectly, if anyone needs painting done he is worth the money. Our house has become our forever home, and even with an upgraded HVAC system and having to replace a rotted beam underneath the back of our existing home’s bathroom, we still managed to come in at the high end of our budgeted amount. We couldn’t be more grateful and thankful for the Catalano crew and the work they’ve done on our home.

Paul and his crew were great to work with and I highly recommend working with them. Through the design and permitting process, he worked with us on what our different options and how to prioritize them within our budget. We were kept up to date through the construction process and aware of any delays (due to weather/mud) and changes (electric/hvac modifications needed for code compliance).  Several years after the completion of our project, we continue to be extremely happy with the quality of the work done and the improvement to our home. Paul was extremely responsive whenever I reached out. We initially came across Paul and his team through local advert and followed up with others who knew his family. Our project was to expand our home, first outwardly, and in the final design to add a floor above our existing house.   They were careful and thoughtful about the design.   During the initial planning, we were even struck down by COVID and Paul jumped in to go to our town council and get our permit for us.  Paul is responsive, careful, and is constantly looking out for our budget, even without asking him. The crew was top notch.   Will, Vinnie, Mike, and nearly every one of the trades worked very quickly, efficiently and with attention to detail. We have since referenced them to others in our neighborhood and to friends of the family.
